Redding Police Catch Alleged Burglar in Act

Nichlous Peternik

On August 8, 2011 at 11:18 p.m., officers from Redding Police Department responded to 1100 block of Gold Street for a burglary alarm. The alarm company advised there were several areas of activation inside the residence.

Officers arrived and located Nick Peternik, 27 years of Redding, inside the residence. Peternik was gathering items and appeared to be burglarizing the residence. The owner of the residence arrived and told officers no one was supposed to be inside. Officers attempted to contact Peternik, but he would not comply with orders to come out the residence. Peternik was safely taken into custody with the assistance of K-9 Vermut.

Peternik was taken to Shasta Regional Medical Center for medical clearance for the dog bite. He was later booked at the Shasta County Jail for burglary.

Go all of us. We will probably be seeing many more instances like this as the economy worsens. There is no excuse for stealing, but people who don't see any other solution do it anyway. Just remember, we are all just a job or a crisis or an accident away from being homeless and a giving and forgiving spirit is needed now more than ever before. I blame the lack of education by parents and our school system and the poor excuses for "managers" who have been running our country for the last 75 years. Can we please get some values and fiscal sanity back into our country? Please?

"There, But". Thank you for your response.

I AGREE with your most of response, and yes, it is is lack of good

leadership that has caused a good portion of this type of

situation. It is not Republican, or Democrat, but PROGRESSIVES

and GREED that are to blame. There has always been crime

and there always will be, but a forgiving spirit will not solve the

problem? GOD bless officer L9 VERMUT, GOD BLESS THE USA,

and yes, let's get back to VALUES, and SANITY in our beloved

Does anyone know if there is a way to find out if he made his court date? Or possible warrant out for him?
