O Holy Night. I used to love hearing my mom sing it - now I enjoy Placido Domingo’s rendition.

Blue Christmas by Elvis. I always played the Elvis Christmas tape (old I know) while we decorated the tree. Then we would force the boys to go with us to view Christmas lights around town. They always moaned about it. Fast forward to a couple yrs ago; Our youngest son and wife told us all that they had a surprise for us. It was a limo ride all around Redding to view the lights AND he had the driver play…..you guessed it the Elvis Christmas….CD this time. Wonderful memory that my now 5 yr old granddaughter still talks about.

My favorite has always been “I’ll be Home for Christmas”. I just heard a new version by Josh Groban which made me cry. In between the verses are recordings of deployed personnel wishing their families Happy Holidays while they are in Iraq or Afghanistan. Powerful stuff, and a reminder of how blessed we are.

I’m with Erin on this one. “Oh, Holy Night” for sure! I also love “Go Tell it on the Mountain”.

Best Christmas album that no one has ever heard of is called “Snow Angels” by Over The Rhine. One song, “Here It Is”, has surpassed all other Christmas songs for me. If you don’t own it (and I know you don’t), please be kind to yourself and download it now!! One of my favorite aspects of the holidays is listening to this CD.

O Holy Night. I pretty much like all versions of it, but Yolanda Adams can really sing.

The classics: Bing Crosby singing “White Christmas,” Judy Garland’s “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and Nat King Cole’s version of “The Christmas Song.”

My favorite Christmas song without a doubt is Lisa Marie Presley’s version of Silent Night.
She has this great sultry voice that fits the song perfectly.

O Holy Night. Two choices: a choir I taught it to when they were in sixth grade about twenty years ago and when I hear it sung at church.
