Nice job, Phil! I was at the rally this morning at Congressman’s Herger’s office - I was amazed at the self proclaimed “terrorists” who showed up! Most had bibles and were shouting scripture while at the same time calling our President by names that I don’t care to repeat. Mr. Stead was there on his knees trying to persuade everyone to see things his way. I got some great pics and I’m hoping that anewscafe will be able to use them on this website.
Love the tee shirt idea..the money could go to help pay someones hospital expenses. With the end of summer and congress in session soon..perhaps all of this rhetoric will come to an end. The USS Herger is running aground, just like in your sketch Phil…locals in Redding and Chico are planning on keeping up the heat until he resigns. He won’t apologize as that would be tantamount to a resignation of sorts. So, he simply has to be shamed out of office. I urge folks to email Nancy Pelosi and ask her to either sanction him for his un-American remarks, remove him from his committees, or simply move his office to the basement of the House Cannon Bldg. She has the privilege to do all three. Call his office in Redding, Chico or DC and request his resignation.
I sent this cartoon to everyone I know, and got a lot of positive response, even from those who didn’t know this character was real.
What disturbs me is the cheers Stead got from the crowd. Surprising how many people hold the adolescent view that bad things happen only to other people. How can we hold in contempt people who need a handout when we might need one ourselves one day?
As the Public Affairs Officer and member of the Board of Directors for the Northern California Hispanic Latino Coalition, I worked very hard for six years toward helping realize multilateral inclusion. and productivity.
That wonderful organization is a real treasure of the Northstate. They peacefully and proactively support putting the knowledge of tolerance into healthy action… for ALL. I think Mr. Herger and Mr. Stead could work side by side with the majority of their fellow ‘colonists’ if they could just open their minds more and resist the temptation of a sense of belonging to groups that propagandize, spin, separate, belittle and hate.
Here’s one for you and the good readers of ANewsCafe - it came to me from a truly good and great American…
I teach - and model - to my daughters, there is never a “right-way” to do a wrong thing. Ladies and gentlemen: our children are watching us all…
ESPECIALLY we parents and those elected leaders who are mandated to a higher standard.
